How to make video play fullscreen automatically?

How to make nVidia card recognize YouTube videos as video and output them in fullscreen on TV via S-video?

  • I have my video card (GeForce FX5200) connected to my TV via S-Video. In the nVidia control panel, I have it set up so that both monitor and TV display the same thing but also to have videos played on the desktop automatically show in full screen on the TV. This works fine for Windows Media Player, but not for YouTube. Is there any way to get the card to recognize flash-based video as video as well?

  • Answer:

The card could not care less what the source file is. If your nVidia Control Panel is set to "clone" mode all you need to do is view the file in "full screen" mode in YouTube. If your Internet Explorer window shows in full screen on your TV then so should the video. If you downloaded the flv file & are playing it on a third party viewer then that's where you need to modify the settings. A last suggestion is to get a program like VideoGet. http://nuclear-coffee.com/ It not only downloads videos from YouTube but also allows you to convert them to avi or wmv or mpeg. These can then be played in full screen on Media Player. regards, Philip T
