Which is the best single core processor family?

Which one is the best processor for games, the Intel Quad Core 2,40 GHz or the Duo Core 3,00 GHz?

  • Specifically I have one game running (Football Manager) and there's always an antivirus on the background. Which one would be more appropriate for such a case, the quad or the duo core?

I would suggest getting the Quad Core proccessor. It will perform better than the Dual Core even though it is slightly slower.

not many games are able to run on quad core yet. however, the quad will definitely be a good investment

depends on alot u cant just ask a question like that but if u dont know alot about cpu then u would like duo core better and should be cheaper by alot

dual core would be fine, besides the games need to catch up to maximize the quad core. but the quad core is a good investments in case the games you play can utilize its full potentials but more expensive tho hope it helps btw im not a fan of amd or intel but if ur going to use windows products for your os might as well be intelligent enough to use intel lesser hassels and doesn't overheat^^
