Answer:
Hi Cortezz There is a restore partition on your HP. Click on My Computer and you should see a D Drive. That is where the restore is. If there is no D Drive, check the C drive and there is a backup of the operating system.

Long answer: Yes you can, if your computer is a PC you have an option to do a system restore. Its in My Control Panel and if your not in Category View then click it on the left hand side. Then look for Performance and Maintenance and you should see on the left hand side a option that says System Restore. Now, if your computer has only been acting up recently, you can choose to restore on certain dates, for example a month ago or 2 weeks ago. Find the date that you want and start it. This will delete every file, program, or anything that has been added your computer since the specified date. Hope that helps, gl.

If you don't have the discs then you're basically up ****'s creek. You may be able to find downloads for the discs online but I highly doubt it because you have to boot to the cd and if you install it on your computer then that really won't do any good. You could burn it onto a cd if you find them but if you have a virus on your computer then it will probably infect the disc and then your still screwed. Good luck, man, but you may be buying a new computer.
Restoring a Windows system to the 'ground state' or 'factory state' can be accomplished if you have the 'System Restore' disk. Before you go through this operation, it's best to have ALL your current drivers on a separate disk, 'cause the factory disks sometimes don't load correctly, and that can be trouble down the road. Get a driver backup application (see 'snapfiles.com/freeware' under the 'System Backup' heading. I use Windriver backup, but others work about as well. If keeping data files is not an issue, then do an 'overwrite' or destructive install. That will erase any malware on the hard drive & give you the only sure way to kill any junk residing there. Re-installs take about 8 hours, even with DSL connection (for the Windows Updates) and if all you have is dial up- forget it! Find somebody with DSL & use their connection.

Yes, save any file you want to keep first, set boot order to boot to cd first, insert the restore disc and shut down. Reboot and follow the instructions
