Buying a new PC?
-
Basically I started off looking at a game minimum specs (bioshock) and recommended specs when i thought i should upgrade my PC. My PC isn't THAT bad.. 2.4Ghz 1Gb Ram 360Gb Hard-drive (2 seperate) However instead of looking into upgrading 1)my Ram 2)my CPU and 3)my Graphic, My brother told me to just looking at getting a new PC. Now i have seen PC's on ebay that look insane ending @ about £350. When i see insane, i mean 2-4x the processing power, Ram, and graphics of my PC. I've been wondering, how do they make those so cheap? whats the catch? Is it because they don't include mouse/keyboard/monitor, etc? Do they use cheap parts (excluding the CPU)? Has anyone bought a PC off ebay and is satisfied?

Answer:
You would be better off having someone build you a computer.. There are many people around with the skills. You will get a better machine than anything sold in the store for half the price.

if your pretty good with pc's i would recommend building your own its usually always the cheapest way to go(and most fun) You can chose every oarts you want, and build it the way you want. Go on newegg.com, do a little research, consider building a new one.

I personally would not buy a computer from ebay, whatever you do make sure you invest eough to get at least a 3 year service and replacement plan.

Just add from 1-2 gigs of ram and check your video card to see if it be able to handle the power of the video game you want to play .

You can buy an ATi 1950 Pro for around 100 Pounds. Add 1Gb of ram (around 25-50 Pounds), and a new proc for around another 50-100 Pounds. I am playing BioShock on my system right now, with an AMD Athlon Dual Core (2.2-2.3Ghz), Dual 1950XTX, and 3 (recognised) Gb of ram. Now, your rig shouldn't give you any problems, although, like m'self, you will probably see some loading lags as each section starts/loads/saves last level. Right now I see a "lag" of about 1-2 minutes as each level loads/saves the last level. Gives you just enough time to start de-stressing and getting ready for the next level. Enjoy! I am! ;) eBay note: For every good/honest seller, you can probably find 2-3 dishonest ones, and a couple or more out-right crooks. Where consumer electronics are concerned, you can probably double those figures, making it 1 in 12 of finding a good deal, instead of a 1 in 6 chance.
