How can I restore my active desktop?

How can I restore the folder "desktop" in the windows vista?

  • I accidentally erase the folder "desktop". And inside of the user´s folder, there are 2 folders, one which is my user and another one called "public". And out of nowhere it came another "desktop" folder, but located in the "public" folder. Now every time i put a shortcut in the desktop, it duplicates. Can someone tell me how to fix this? I already try to go back to previous restore point. But it didn't´t work.

  • Answer:

try type~desktop~ in search box on the window that opens under ~files there will be an icon of a file (buff coloured) drag and drop the file icon onto your desktop hope this helps

To customize the right pane of the Start menu You can add or remove items, such as Computer, Control Panel, and Pictures, that appear on the right side of the Start menu. You can also change some items so that they appear as links or menus. Click to open Taskbar and Start Menu Properties. Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize. In the Customize Start Menu dialog box, select the options in the list that you want, and then click OK.
