What is pf usage in the task manager?

How can I reduce my crazy PF Usage?

  • My computer has been getting high PF usage for a while now, I think its lagging my computer and makeing it emit a scratching noise.     YOU NEED MORE RAM. 512 just doesn't cut it anymore. And with all your other computer specs (which are good) you should have at least twice that (i would suggest 8 times that). As for the loud sounds your computer makes go to wal-mart or dollar general and pick up a can of no moisture air and take off the casing of your computer and spray it down to get rid of all that dust in your computer. You aren't running that many programs on your computer and about the onlything you could do without is the wow.exe. Another thing you could do is go to "run" in your start menue and type in "msconfig" this will show you all the items that run when your computer starts up and then just unclick everything you don't need. I hope this helps.

you can adjust the size of space used by windows as paging file by- right click on my computer and then select properties and then go to advanced tab and then click settings under performance and then switch to advanced tab and then click change under virtual memory and then change its size to what you think will be a good value but i suggest you to either let system manage the size or change it to 1.5 times of your RAM that will be 768 MB

You could disable the WOW.exe if you aren't using it.
