How to send My Computer to the recycle bin?

I can't send files to the Recycle Bin without Windows Explorer stopping and then restarting. Help?

  • I cannot send a file(s) to the Recycle Bin nor can I delete files in the recycle bin without Windows Explorer hanging up. I then must go to the task manager and end the task I had just tried to complete. After clicking on "End Task" I get the following message: "Windows Explorer has stopped working" "Windows is searching for a solution to this problem" "Windows Explorer is restarting..." After it restarts, the file(s) have either been moved to the recycle bin or emptied from it as I had previously tried to do. Although I get the task done this "freezing" problem is most annoying. The operating system I am using is Windows Vista. Any ideas on how to resolve this problem?
