The Sims 2 Crash and Cache Files!?

  • Okay, so I have been playing the Sims 2 for a very long time on my laptop. I had no problems then. After I installed the Sims the Sims 2 Seasons on my drive, whenever I try to access the game it would come up, load and ask me to choose what neiborhood I would like to go to. You know the usual thing. However, say if I choose Pleasant view (this happens to all the neiborhood by the way) and it loads pretty quickly, once it finish loading, it will stay on that SAME screen, the entire time. So I press ESC and come out of it, then come back to it, and it is just the blank blue screen with music playing in the back. So, I go online and found out if it deleted the cache files, it would go away, this solution does not work for me. I tried updating the games, no luck. I have no custom content and the problem cant be my computer since I have been playing it on there already. I tired de-fragment, I tried re-installing it TWICE. The games I have installed are: The Sims 2, Free Time, Nightlife, Bon Voyage, Teen Style Stuff, Open for Business, and University. Please help, I REALLY want to play!

    Sounds like a broken windows file within the application in the root directory of the program, these files usually lie within the registry, so removing the program and re adding it will leave the existing file there. Try installing the game into a different directory.
