How can i open the .avi files at sony vegas?

Sony Vegas Pro 10 won't open .avi files?

  • Well, I recently upgraded my windows from Windows Vista Home Basic to Windows 7 Ultimate. That required me to erase my entire hard drive. I obviously backed everything up but I ignored all the programs. So now, I reinstalled Sony Vegas Pro 10 but it won't let me open up .avi files. :/ I installed K-Lite Video Codec but that doesn't work. I also used DivX Video Codec but that didn't work either. I REALLY DON'T want to use a converter. It will just take too long. Is there anyway to fix it without converting it? Sorry for a long response. :P

  • Answer:

Change the avi codec with this total video converter, just choose "Common Video" >>"AVI-Audio-Video Interleaved" Video as output format, then click "Converting". Now you can edit the video into Sony Vegas Pro 10 .
