Sony Vaio recovery disc.

I have 2000 Sony VAIO desktop(XP) & every single program on it stopped working,cant even install new/restore?

• Well I accidently must have uninstalled somthing important in my 2000 Sony VAIO Desktop computer, because not one icon will show up, not one program will start up, and i dont even have the bottom task bar appearing anymore. I have to press ctrl alt del , to get the task manager to appear (the only thing that will pop up). then i go to "New Task" and when i try to click onto any program, it says " unable to load (blah blah) try installing ieexplorer.dll " and i have tried my system recovery discs, but my computer says it does not have the capability to make any disc work, anymore. All of my 4 family members XP screennames and passwords show up at the beginning, and then as soon as we log on, only our background picture will show. No icons, no start menu, no bottom taskbar, nothing. Someone Please Help me!!! Is my computer a dead soldier, or is there something I can tweak with to fix it. I cannot afford any new computer- so all suggestions, and instructions will be greatly appreciated.

  Sounds like you deleted the windows systems directory. you can't reinstall by yourself, so recovery disks are the best option. Change your BIOS to boot from the recovery disks, rather than running the recovery disks under windows. Otherwise, buy a new disk drive, load the recovery disks, and restore files from your backups.
