I cant run ANY .exe files?

I just upgraded xp to vista sp1. When i try to download something anything thats .exe comes up with this error. ''.exe is not a valid win 32 application''. Just saying but if your solutions requires me to open or run a .exe file I CANT RUN ANY .EXE FILES

64 or 32 bit vista? if you're using 64 bit vista than 32 bit applications will not work anymore...
