What is ideal desktop for video editing and animation?

  • Can someone please tell me what kind of desktop computer configuration would be good for computer animation, video editing, and general graphic design? Thanks.

    my friend who does animation and motion capture for a living and who does freelance stuff from home had an, i think, hp with tons of memory, awesome video cards, etc. it is a huge freakin computer. he had it custom built by the factory to his specifications, though.
