Connecting pc to tv via hdmi problems?

  • i brought a new lenovo pc and connected it to my tv via HDMI and had no problems with it however when my tv became faulty i had to buy a new one now i have a toshiba regza tv and i just tried to connect my pc through it via HDMI again and it says no video signal. i have tried both HDMI ports and does not work on either i have tried it on another pc and still have the same problem. when connected to the tv and monitor it appears on the monitor and i changed the settings in screen resolution to toshiba TV but nothing happend the HDMI cable works fine :/ any ideas?

    Check that you are on the right channel, usually HDMI1. On your computer, hold down the flag key and P and select duplicate.

try changing the resulotion on the computer end to see if that will work some resultions won't work with tv's

if you have changed the resolution on the big screen from the pc then you must have a problem with the pc itself, i use my pc on a 37" sanyo lcd tv at full 1080p, i use resolution 1280x768 it all depends if your graphics card can support the same resolution as your tv, the standard size is 50hz refresh at 1024x768, what size is the tv, what refresh rate can it support and at what scale 720p 1080i etc
