Usb ports not working?

How do I get my computer to recognize that my USB ports are USB 2.0? Windows driver update isn't working...

  • Windows XP earches for updated USB drivers and tells me there are none. I've installed all of the updates available for my Intel motherboard, but I still cannot get Windows to recognize my USB ports as 2.0. Whenever I plug a device into a USB port I get the same message: This device would run faster on a USB 2.0 port. I have checked with the motherboard manufacturer and I am sure that the USB ports are 2.0.

  • Answer:

You need to find the make/model of your motherboard. Your motherboard will have a certain chipset on it, either "via" or "nforce" whichever it is you need to go to the appropriate website and download what is called your "chipset drivers" this will have your usb2.0 hub drivers.

Other answers

check the motherboard manufacturer website they should have something for it.

Did your motherboard (what is the exact model, BTW) come with a driver disc? Did your computer come with XP installed, or did you upgrade it on your own?
