What is the PC equivalent of Xbox 360?

I don't know, but I'm sure you couldn't build it for less than about $2000. Dedicated gaming consoles follow the marketing strategy of inkjet printers. That is, they practically give away the console, but then charge $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the games. Just like you get the inkjet printer for next to nothing, and then pay for it several times over just buying ink cartridges. Right now it looks like you can buy a xbox 360 for about four hundred bucks. Even with the discounts sony gets for purchasing parts in bulk, it probably costs more than twice that to actually manufacture one of them. And all the parts are so "integrated" that the cost to mimic something with PC components will probably double or triple what it costs Sony to manufacture one game console.

Thats an interesting question. Wikipedia says that the graphics in the 360 are similar to the old ati radeon x1900 graphics card. Needless to say, the 360 is very old, and modern graphics cards over $100 will smite the 360. The processor is a dual core i think, but i cant remember. Again, its an old chip. Game consoles dont need very much RAM, so any modern pc will have more ram than a 360. But the biggestthing about the 360 is that it is optimized for games. Not only that, but developers tailor games to run on the 360, so games on an equivalent pc may be a bit slower than a 360. But most modern pcs with a graphics card will be much more powerful.

That's a tough a call. You can't really compare a Video Game System to a Computer. Technically a Video Game System is a computer. Now I say that. You can play games on it. That's what its primarily made for. With a computer it's the same. But then you have to meet system requirements for that game you want to play on the computer. So you have an XBOX. You buy a game for it. You know that game will work with no problems. Because its for an XBOX. Just as if you Buy a game for a PS2, PS3, or any other system. You know the game will work. It was made for that system. Computers are different, As I said you have to have a certain amount of RAM, Then Video Card, Then when you install the game you have to get updates. The list goes on and on for a computer. Fact is: You get a game for a video game system. It works for that system. I Don't know. I guess I talk too much. WHy the hell are we talking about parts between an XBOX and a Computer. When the fact is that an XBOX is technically a Video Game System. This is stupid. What would be the point of building a Computer Comparable XBOX in the first place. I mean Bill Gates will Sue (LOL) This is the most dumbest question I've EVER tried to answer. You know what.
