No matter what monitor I plug into my computer, it says "No Signal"?
-
It's like this: I got a new TV that had a computer monitor hookup in the back. So I plugged it into my computer and put the TV in monitor mode and I got "No Signal". So I hooked my regular monitor back up to my computer and it said "No Signal" too. So I tried my other computer's monitor, and still got "No Signal". It was working fine before I tried hooking it to the TV, but now I get "No Signal" no matter which monitor I plug in. Did I fry something? If so what? Any idea what went wrong? Thanks.

Answer:
Hardware damage is possible. I am not sure, can u give more details about ur computer's hardware and OS. Also can u tell when u did plug in the tv for the first time was ur computer on or off? Try using that vga card on another computer and then tell me what happens. If it works then ur motherboard may be fried, if it doesn't then its probably the vga card.

It is either the VGA card, the VGA cable, or the Monitor, It can not be the motherboard,, Try to test the cables, the Card and the monitor in another system..

Did you try the monitors on the PC that had no problem? Did every monitor work with no problem then? If you did both and the answer to both is yes, take the monitor to a specialist. Some shake or jerk could have done some damage in the inside of the monitor. My guess is, there is some damage on the wires that run from the monitor to the VGA port on the panel of your PC.

The " No Signal " is that the TV itself is not picking up and TV channels, It has nothing to do with your computer. If you are hooking your computer via DVI "computer" to HDMI "TV" then you just need to click on the input selection on your remote to the HDMI input.
