How do I transfer my library?

How can I transfer my iTunes library from my PC to my Mac?

  • I recently bought a macbook pro, and i'd like to transfer all my data from my old pc to this one. For most of my files it's pretty easy - documents and photos can just be transferred using a flash drive. But my iTunes seems to be more complicated; not only do i want to transfer the music files, but i'd like to transfer my entire iTunes library including playlists, play counts, ratings, etc. Plus, this would include not only songs i have saved on my computer, but also ones i've uploaded directly to iTunes either from cd's or through the iTunes store. *Also, my pc is in less than great working condition, to put it mildly (hence, my switch to mac!), and i doubt if it can handle anything too sophisticated or complicated. Also, I'm not overly tech savvy, and most of the tutorials i've read online for this are way over my head and seem to assume that i know things that i don't. If someone can give me an easy to follow guide for how i might be able to do this i would greatly appreciate it. I've had the same library for nearly 7 years so I'd like to keep it intact if at all possible! Thanks!!!

  • Answer:

Connect the iTunes to both computers and then, transfer the files from PC to your Mac via cutting and pasting the files under Mac folder.... Good luck!
