Why does my computer make a beeping noise?

Why do my computer fans make so much noise?

  • My computer fans have been recently making a lot of noise. When I first turn it on, it will make a loud fan noise for about 1-2 seconds, then the fans will turn off. After about 5 minutes, the fans will turn on at a very low noise level. Then after about 10 minutes, the fans will make even more noise, then after about 20 minutes, the fans are panicking. After 20 minutes, I'll restart my computer, and the fans will make a VERY loud noise for 5 seconds, then slow down, then start back up for 5 seconds, then they will go back to a normal, low sound. I don't know if there's any dust in them.. Please help?

    Your fans are controlled by the heat generated within the PC. If they are progressively increasing in speed (volume) over a short period of time and you aren't doing anything to warrant it (playing skyrim, battlefield, etc...) then your vents are dirty/clogged and/or the fins of the CPU cooler are clogged. It's time to open the box, so turn it off, get your vacuum cleaner (w/small brush attachment) and clean the beast out. If you have a can of compressed air, so much the better. Clean it thoroughly. Blades, fins, vents and all. Caveat, when cleaning the blades, do not allow the vacuum to spin the blades. Hold them with a fingertip and clean thoroughly.

Your computer has low air flow. This is causing your components to heat up. The motherboard has sensors and adjusts the fan's RPM's according to the temperature. You should try opening up the case and while wearing an anti static wrist band try to see if there's accumulation of dust. If so, try to use compressed air to get it out. If that's not the issue, invest in a case with better air flow or at least buy a new CPU cooler. Make sure it'll fit in your existing case.

because you're making them nervous. You could go into the BIOS and change the CPU temp for fans...i don't really know how to do this, tho
