How to transfer Itunes library not using discs or external hard drive.?
-
I need to transfer my Itunes library to my laptop but when i try to back up using a DVD+RW it just says checking media and doesn't do anything. CD's wont work because i have files too big for one CD so it tells me i need to use a DVD and that wont work. I don't have an external hard drive or flash drive. I have an ipod touch also. Thank you.

The way i would do this is to forget about iTunes for now and just find where the music is actually stored on the computer. (A good way to do this is to open iTunes and right click, and select 'Show In Windows Explorer' Then from there just burn the MP3's to dvd using your original burning software i.e Nero or Sonic. Dont create audio disc, You should be creating a data disc. Also burning to CDs this way (MP3 format) will allow for alot more than the standard 70-80 minutes. Once this disc is done, load up in your laptop and drag and drop the files into My music or wherever you want. Then all thats left to do is add the files to your itunes library, which is done by iTunes/File/Add Folder To Library Then selecting the my music folder. Hope this makes sense.

You can use the iPod touch as a hard drive. Plug it in, and chuck all of your music and stuff onto it (it may require a few trips). Plug it into your laptop and voila. It's also possible to do it over a network.
