How do I check what Graphics Card I have on Windows 7?

Power Supply & Graphics Card Size?

  • I'd like to know what my power supply is (in watts), And what size graphics card my PC will accommodate. Is there a way I can check that, and how? ( I'm running off of Windows 7. )

  • Answer:

Like Adrian said the power of the power supply is usually a sticker on the component itself. For the graphics card you have to find out what 'form factor' you're motherboard is (the model of your motherboard can be located next to the processor, you can find a pdf file of this online which will explain more about what the motherboard has etc. you're motherboard (modern computers) will have PCI-E slots. there are others like PCI, AGP. these are also known as 'bus types' and will help you identify what graphics card can fit into your computer. Hope this helps :)

All power supplies have stickers on them, showing the total power available to the system. You have to open the case and look at the power supply, no way to tell otherwise.
