What's the difference between Windows vs. Linux?

How would you compare Windows vs. Mac OS vs. Linux/Unix?

I am in a computer class and I am way over my head. They want as to compare the operating systems of Windows vs. Mac OS vs. Linux/Unix. In all the articles I've read all they want to talk about is that Mac and Linux are cheaper and trying to corner the market. I want to know about the differences they have to offer. Thanks!!

all i know is that windows can take the hard process business and people have to offer. Macs have their good side but they are not in for the people but for the competition by airing negative ads on PCs. Windows is 90% the market mac 5% and Linux/UNIX another 5%. That is why people decide to attack windows more with viruses because it is the most used in the market. And that is because of its greatness in computers. Linux is a an open control OS that is why people go for it because they want control and MACS can be good but the are just in the competition. Windows The first successful i mean come on bill gates Chin ching OS has more programs and accessibility in the networking world.
