I don't meet the recommended specs for this game..what does this mean?
-
I'm a little confused and I'll tell you why. If it were my graphic card failing the test, I would just know I can't put the graphics on max but its not. My graphics card passes it with flying colors. Btw, talking about Call of Duty 4 for PC. The only recommended I fail is the processor. Now, I'm not exactly sure what this will mean during gameplay. It probably won't be laggy because of my graphics card right? Recommended is a X1800 Pro or better and I have a X1950 Pro (radeon). So that is fine but the recommended processor is 2.4ghz dual core or better. I have a AMD Athlon 3200+ 2.0ghz clocked at 3.2ghz. (single core) Do you think I will have problems running the game on medium/max graphics? From what I know about games I would think as long as I meet the minimum requirements for processor I should be good to go since isn't the only main thing that matters the graphics card? Do you think I can smoothly play this game with my specs? I pass all other tests as well.

Answer:
Processor plays its part as well, my friend. Processor speed determines how fast calculations will get done when it comes to loading the levels, as well as calculating where bullets hit (in arcade mode, you get extra points for head shots). Also, on maps where there is a time limit, and various things happen at specific times, the processor makes sure that everything happens when it's supposed to. A slow processor could mess up the timing. Just some things to keep in mind. You should be okay, but the best way to find out is to test it for yourself. I'm sure there's plenty of places that have the demo.

It would appear that you do not have enough processing power for this game. Remember that the vid card only processes the video. But it does this in combination with the CPU and the Northbridge. I'm going to guess that this game was written to take advantage of the second processor in most of todays CPUs.

3 things you shall have in term of playing games such as COD4. ->processor, ram and graphic card. note that a dual core performance is twice than a single core could do. their architectural is significantly differently. and the game utilized both core in a dual core processor.
