How to fix a really scratched disk?

How do I fix this very scratched disk?

  • I want it to work so badly! My friend gave me Sims 2. She got it when it just came out, so its about 2 years old or around there. It got very scratched over those years & I wanted to borrow it & see if it worked. I installed it a few months ago & it worked pretty well, but the game was kind of weird & messed up so I uninstalled it. Now I tried installing it again & it's just not working. All the other disks are in pretty good shape, except for the first one which I need the most. I tried popping it in & the computer sounds like its trying to read it, but it's just not working. I cleaned it several times & it DID seem to help. Before it didn't sound like it even read it, but now it does. It still doesn't work though. Any thing I can do to shape it up in working condition?

  • Answer:

You can buy CD scratch removal kits, which may help to fill them in. Or, you can rub a verrrry thin layer of toothpaste on the bottom of the CD. If the scratches are deep, though, nothing will help.

Search the net for a CD repair system. Or if it's only for 1 cd get a CD repair kit. It's much cheaper!
