Music coming from a computer?

My music is coming out of my computer speakers instead of my usb headset?

  • hi im using cool edit (recording studio program also known as adobe audition) and wanted to know why the only thing coming out of my usb m audio microphone to headset is my voice but the music comes out of my laptop speakers, what can i do for all my sound to come out of my m-audio usb headset and microphone ?

    If you are using windows xp, then go start-programmes-accessories-Entertainme… recorder. Click on Audio properties under 'edit' option. There will be two options to choose which device to select for 1.Playback and 2. Recording. Under playback, select your microphone software. A simple method what i usually do is go to the speaker options, usually on the right bottom corner of your screen (on windows). Disable all sound devices other than ur headphones, and that should work. Unless your program is interfering somehow i suggest looking the options of the program and figure whether there are other ways. Hope this helps and solve your issue :)

in windows go down to the bottom right and right click on the little speaker icon then select playback devices. when your listening to your headphones disable the speakers by right clicking them in the list and selecting disable. Then when you want to use speakers go back and enable them with the same process.
