Broken Flip camera USB?

Computer USB problem?

  • I have a problem with my USB ports in my computer. Everytime I plug a USB drive, PSP cord, etc. inside the USB port, i hear the tune indicating that the USB is connected, but nothing comes out in "my Computer" Usually there would be an extra icon that appears in My Computer, but it just doesn't pop out. I know that the USB drive did get connected and it's there, but it's jsut that no icon comes out to direct me to the connected folder. (I know this because I can still import my camera pictures into my computer with it's usb drive in a program that comes with my camera.) ::I know my PSP cord or USB drive isn't broken because it works fine on my brother's computer.

  • Answer:

Go to Control Panel > Admin Tools > Computer Management. In the left hand pane double click on Disk Management. You should now see your external drive. Change its drive letter to as low as possible in the alphabet. Obviously not C - Good luck - hope this works for you. wdw

Try the other port for the USB sometimes the port itself gets messed up..If that doesn't help, your USB card may be going out...Also you didn't say what operating system you are using..I am guessing Windows? Good luck.

Most likely your USB drive, PSP cord are working correctly, however I tend to believe that your USB ports might not be enabled. Look into... Start, Control Panel, System, Device Manager. Universal Serial Bus Controllers Select each USB to see if each one is working correctly/enabled.

Your driver for USB Drives has malfunctioned. I suggest you search "Driver Fix" in Google, or Yahoo! Windows XP: Try a different USB port, or the first one you used for the device. Windows Vista: Some USB drives are still incompatible. Windows 9x: Windows cannot get a driver -- ever!
