What's a good computer mic?

My mic is not working, i tried everything?

• On my windows 7, i uninstalled the realtek drivers and reinstalled, i used system restore, it says its working fine on recording devices and has that green check and its set on default devices, and i checked if it was muted and its not, and its plugged into the pink slot on the front of the computer, and i tried recording my voice and i heard nothing. All i did was unplug my mic from my computer and plug it back in and now it magically stops working ? WHATS WRONG WITH IT ?

• Answer:

  First, try plugging in a different mic. If that doesn't work the problem is in the computer. Second, check all your audio software "audio properties", realtek software, whatever voice recording program you're using. Third, change which program you're using to record with. Fourth, if all that doesn't work see how your audio card is installed; there might be a loose wire or something.
