How can I download EasyShare to external hard drive?

My internal hard drive is almost full. Most of the space is taken up by Kodak Easyshare photo albums. I tried to download Easyshare onto external hard drive and was not able to do so. Kodak Customer Service advised me that Easyshare could only be downloaded onto internal hard drive. I want to download more Kodak photos from new Kodak camera I just bought but don't have space on internal hard drive. Do I have to download Kodak pictures onto Picasa? I have thousands of photos on Easyshare. Some are duplicates in more than one album but if I try delete that particular photo in one album it deletes in all albums. Due to downloading problems from Kodak cameras many duplicate photos have also popped up in my Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Live Photo Gallery. When I try to delete Window Gallery duplicates to free up space on my internal hard drive my photos in Easyshare crack and disappear. I am baffled and don't know what to do. Please help! Thanks. I assume that you mean Picasa, the program that you install on your PC, and not Picasa Web Albums, the on-line photo sharing service. Picasa does not/will not contain your photos - it simply detects and manages photos that are in folders on the hard drive of your PC. Therefore, it is incorrect to speak of downloading pictures onto Picasa. If you installed Picasa on your PC, as a part of the installation it asks what directories it should scan for pictures, or should it scan your entire C drive. The usual choice is to let it scan My Documents and My Pictures. After it installs, you can use Tools-Folder Manager to add the Kodak Easyshare Library directories and it will then detect the photos in them. Once that is done, you can move the pictures to new directories on the external hard drive using Picasa, back them up from there, and then delete the EasyShare directories on your C drive. When your download agent asks you if you want to save or run, click on the save as button, then just tell it what drive and Dir you want to save to. Hope that helps. CDR
