What computer should I get for my kind of gaming?

Get something custom, or what the heck build your own gaming machine it's pretty fun doing that stuff and you got 1000 bucks man you could get all the top of the line hardware out there.

i use this website alot and picked out 2 of the best ones for gaming. since you are asking about what to look i'm assuming you don't know too much about computers, no offense, so you would be safer getting a bigger name brand, since they have better tech support and can provide more tech help than smaller lesser known companies, i picked an awesome hp and an awesome gateway hp computer i would recommend upgrade to the hard drive that has 7200 or 10000 rpm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883107875 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883113080 hp has the 2x better graphics and can play any game out now and to come for awhile, gateway is the top notch standard for current games that are out now, gateway will be limited to some future games

Here's an article from a site I follow on how to build a very respectable gaming PC for $800 including the OS. http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2845,2347620,00.asp While I understand you aren't looking to build your own gaming PC, it will give you an idea of the kind of components that should be available to you in your price range. I myself build my own gaming PCs and this article is very close to what I would get for that price. Since it was posted (late May), the cost of the Nvidia GTX 275 and 280 graphics cards have come down to the point where they might be substituted for the Nvidia GTX 260 and still stay close to the $800 mark. I'd also go with the E8500 over the Q8400 for a pure gaming machine I was building today, but either would be quite acceptable. I'd also probably plan on adding a second hard drive for a RAID 0 configuration. That only adds $50 or so in the size the article mentioned. (320 GB) Note that price doesn't include a monitor, keyboard, mouse, or speakers. If you can get those for around $200 - possible, but a bit of a stretch - you could have a very nice gaming machine for about $1000. Given the mass builder's economy of scale, they should be able to offer you something in the same range. I suspect you won't necessarily be able to find exactly that set of components. Invariably, that's why I always end up building my own. If you already have all those things and don't plan on buying new ones, consider moving to a Intel Core i7 920 CPU.

Hello, I have an answer for you. I personally build computers as an "on the side" income, and I know quite a lot about them. If you need a moniter, keyboard and mouse, and all that good stuff, I reccommend buying a Barebone Computer from an online store, or getting someone to make one for you. Buying a computer this way saves you a TONNE of money. I myself started my business to prevent people from buyin Dells and HP computers. It is a total rip off! If you need any specific part names I can give you some. For your motherboard-always go with ASUS, they are a highly trusted company and have been making good motherboards for a long time. For your CPU, get nothing more than an Intel Core 2 Duo, but make sure it is over 2.4 GHz. The bare minimum hard drive is 250 gigabites, so I'd say get a 500 just so you can store lots of games! For your video card, I would look at a Radeon HD 3850 or higher. I would get an ANTEC 300 Gaming case. It is sort of loud but nothing will ever overheat. Get a 500W power supply. and get any normal dvd writer, which eventually we all use right? This should bring the cost to about 5-600 bucks, leaving you plenty of room for a moniter and mouse/keyboard. OH I ALMOST FORGOT. RAM, you need that to run your computer :). I would suggest building your own rig to be honest. It will be fun and you save a lot of money and you will like you computer that much more because you built it. A good site to buy from would be www.newegg.com. I have built three computers now. They usualy have the best prices around. Plus you can find exactly what you want they have great search tools. I would suggest getting components such as a quad-core processor, at about 2.5ghz+ You should get around 4gb of ram. A 1gb video card. Or get multiple cards and use crossfire or SLI. personally I'm an ati fan so I would go with crossfire. Also make sure you get a nice power supply. At least 500 watts. My advice would be to contact a local computer repair/builder in your area. A shop with a good reputation. Get something custom made, they'll know exactly what you need/don't need. Otherwise, hit up Best Buy for overpriced pre-fab pc's :(

A Dual processor computer with plenty of Ram and Hard Disk space. Also, an operating system of Vista or XP would be best for a windows.
