How to connect to laptop with a bad video card?

How can I transfer video file from video tap to my laptop,?

  • I have video cassette , laptop, and laptop video card with Ulead studio [I usually use it to download video files from my vedio camera to my laptop], if this equipment is enough can you guide me what kind of cables I can use to connect my video cassette with the laptop vedio card?

  • Answer:

You need a video capture device for your system. A VCR has RC plug connections for output--Red, Yellow, and White plugs on one cable. A VCR outputs analog signals, while your digital video camera output digital signals. Two different technologies. You can probably get external video capture devices to hook up between your VCR and laptop. Check out this site for some help with external video capture info: http://www.videoguys.com/vidcap.htm
