Record with external mic and hd camera?

  • I want to record myself playing guitar but i dont want to use my webcam because its terrible. Is there a way to record myself with a separate HD camera and an external USB mic and have the picture and audio align right?

    I record myself playing the piano with a Flip HD camera and send it to my parents so they can feel what it was like when I was home and would play all the time. Notice on your camera that you don't have any syncing problems. I only have issues with mic and the picture not syncing up when I use a slower computer. Think about it...all that compression, conversion, and syncing...it is all about hardware bandwidth. I can play these on my new laptop I purchased 6 months ago without any problems. If you need good video software as the other responder indicated you needed...I suspect she works for the company she is recommending...I like NCH Software. I used to work there and really like the people and products. I think they are able to give the best value for the money. I'm actually surprised they don't charge more for their software and I'm still shocked at how much software they have for free. One of those programs is a screen, webcam, video capture program called Debut. I highly recommend it and it is a FREE program.
