What's this stuff on my computer mouse?

My computer mouse always double clicks, whats wrong with it?

  • I don't think its a setting on the computer cause sometimes it doesn't double click. But most of the time it does. Even though i am only physically clicking once. It just gets a little annoying sometimes. Would there be something wrong with my mouse or computer?

  • Answer:

i guess there's nothing to do about it but buy a new mouse. if you're saving, try opening the screws of the mouse and clean up the inside (check if a terminal is shorted, that could be causing the problem.)if you cleaned it up but it does not solve the problem, try going to Start/control panel(Classic view)/accessibility options, click the mouse tab, make sure the check box is checked/ticked, and presto! you can control your mouse pointer using your numerical keys while waiting for the mouse to be bought

I came to the same problem before, that's totally the mouse's problem, hardware related. I bought a new one, that's how I solved this. Ye, some articles would tell you how to fix the mouse by yourself, but that's some professiona work.

probably not but go to start/control panel/mouse/double click speed...adjust as needed.

Control panel you can set the "click speed" but most likely it is a worn or dirty switch on the mouse. What happens is when you click and release the switch makes contact, but not real good it may lose contact for just a tiny bit of time and then make contact again. The computer then interprets this as multiple mouse clicks. If you get a new one and don't have now, consider an optical mouse, there is no ball to collect fuzz and they don't skip a beat, they are really nice

u obviously went to control panel, hardware and sound- mouse, and double checked everything??? if u did that, check your mouse and see if there is some button on it? if there isn't then it might be your mouse.

You should try to take the mouse apart and clean inbetween the surface of the left click button(shell) the the actual button on the harware. If all else fails, buy a new one.

it lags you need to clean it... look at closer
