Music coming from a computer?

I have a weird noise coming from my computer speakers when I play music?

  • I don't hear it when I play videos from the internet, just when I play music thats on my computer. I tried uninstalling the drivers, updating them, etc. Its odd because if it was from the soundcard I'd hear it also when I played the internet videos. It's kinda of like a scratching noise. And its not always in the same rythym. I tried calling a pro. and when he came he just made it worse. I was just wondering if anybody had the same problem and how they fixed it.

  • Answer:

This might be elementary, but I was just wondering, first of all, depending on the operating system you have, you should make sure the speaker setup is the correct one. I think in XP or earlier you had to go to Control Panel > Speakers, and in Vista it's Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound and make sure it's set up right, the other thing I can think of is to check what quality the music files are, if it's lower bit-rate music it could be due to the poor quality. If it happens on CD music as well, then the best thing would be to completely remove the sound card drivers and restart and reinstall the latest from the website, OR try just letting windows choose the drivers see if it helps. Good luck!
