My computer cant detect my webcam?

Im trying to install my webcam on my pc. I dont have the cd because I lost it. I downloaded the driver for it to my computer. And it installed fine, But when I go to use my camera my computer says cannot detect hardwr device ... saying it doesnt detect a camera...But its plugged in and the light is on and it says the programs on my computer... What do I do?
