How much storage capacity does a tablet need?

  • I am going to get a tablet, specifically an asus transformer prime, and am trying to decide how much storage I need. it's $500 for the 32GB version and $600 for the 64GB version. It has a micro sd card slot that supports up to 32GB of extra storage, and the keyboard dock also has a full SD card slot that supports up to 32GB I believe. I plan on at least getting a micro sd card for the tablet itself, if not when I get the tablet, shortly after. So is the extra $100 dollars for double the storage capacity worth it? I will be using this tablet as basically a laptop replacement, but will be using remote desktop for windows specific programs I need, but will be doing word processing and everything else on the tablet. So from your guys's experience, how much storage do you need for a tablet that will be a main source of computing? Will be a total of 64GB be cutting it close and should I get a total of 96GB to make sure I will always have enough? I also have a 16GB flash drive for work and school files. Currently I only have 2 or 3GB of local music.

    I wouldn't waste money on a tablet to begin with. It damn sure is NOT a replacement for a PC. Secondly, you have a huge misconception about remote desktop. It's laggy enough when sitting right next to the desktop on a local network. If you think you're going to run programs over the internet using a connection between the tablet and your PC at home, you're dreaming. EDIT: Got news for ya bubba! Either take the answers you get in here with grace and shut that big mouth or go somewhere else for help because the next time you flap that big mouth, you WILL be reported!!!

For what you will be doing a computer would be more worth your while.You could get a 13 inch laptop for around 300 dollars and if you still wanted a tablet you could get a cheap one for 100 to 200 dollars.You would save money,it would be nearly as portable as a tablet,less hastle and you wouldn't have to worry about the memory.
