How to fix graphics card on my pc?

XFX Graphics Card Weird Flashing Vertical Lines?

  • I bought an XFX graphics card from Best Buy a few months ago. The guy at Best Buy told us to install the driver first before actually putting in the card. We did this but when we started up the pc it didn't work (sorry cant remember exactly why it didn't work i just remember there was some sort of issue) so then we installed the drivers again, this time it worked, but there were vertical lines that would flash on the screen whenever i clicked something or typed something or when i was watching a video on youtube. I've just been dealing with this problem and kinda working around it but i really want to know how to fix it. The lines are mainly concentrated in the top right corner. And they aren't there while im in game (sims 3). Please help I just want it to work properly :( GRAPHICS CARD- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/XFX+-+ONE+512MB+HD+DDR3+PCI+Express+2.1+Graphics+Card/3504376.p?id=1218407010379&skuId=3504376&st=xfx graphics card&cp=1&lp=5 MY PC- http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-Slimline-s5-1020-Computer/dp/B004XZHL6E

  • Answer:

Did you try installing a new power supply to provide your video card with adequate power? Did you try removing the card and re-seating it to make sure it's seated properly? Did you try downloading the latest driver instead of using the CD it came with? (Normally folks toss those cds in the garbage).
