What does a TV tuner do?

What's the best TV Tuner for my laptop?

I'm looking for a good tv tuner $80-$100 and under that can accept analog and digital cable without showing a blurry picture. I have a HP pavilion zd7310us laptop, with a screen resolution of 1680x1050. It's 17" widescreen. I'm not sure if my laptop has an s-video input, although i think it's the yellow connection in the back. I also have an open PCI slot on the side. Help me please. Note: I'm not looking for a TV tuner that finds signals in the air (aka a USB drive tv tuner); i'm looking for something that uses a coaxial cable. Thank you for the help.

Hey... The ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0 uses standard coax input or the standard RCA 3-put. Works great on my laptop. As long as your USB feed is 2.0 bandwidth you should be fine. Price range 40-80 bucks. Hope this helps...
