Does Dvd/CD-RW mean it can burn dvds?

No. That's a "combo" drive that only reads dvds but can burn cds.

No heres the chart: CD = Plays Compact Discs, and Most Games CD-RW = Plays CDs, and Can burn CDs (copy), and Play Most Games DVD = Plays DVDs, and CDs DVD/CD-RW = Burns CDs, Plays All Games, and Plays DVDs DVD-RW, CD-RW = Plays and Burns CDs and DVDs and plays All games. (this is the best kind of drive! = ] ) In your case: YOU can play DVDs and Play All Games and Burn CDs More Facts: When i say 'most games' in my chart I mean that some games now a days are so advabce you need a DVD player in your computer to play the game. If it says DVD/CD RW yes you should be able to burn both dvd's and cd's.

To elaborate on the posts left by other contributors: If you want to be able to burn DVDs you need a drive that has support for DVD+ or DVD- R and or RW. R and RW are for writable and re-writable respectively. I am not too sure what the + and - are all about, but if you are going to play video on your home player, make sure you use the format your player supports.

It means that DVD playable (does not burn DVDs) and CD Rewritable (can play CD's and Burn CD's)
