How to install Windows XP from Pen Drive?

Is it possible to format and install OS (Windows XP) from Pen Drive or Portable Hardisk if there is no CD/DVD.?

  • Answer:

YES, you can install os from pendrive, but you need to make this pendrive bootable. Go to the link below how you can do it. http://bitsquad.co.in/2011/05/windows-7-bootable-usb/ After making pendrive bootable u can download ur desired os and burn it (or mount it & then copy paste) directly to the pendrive & use it.

The only way I can think of that this would be possible is if you have an actual disk image of your XP disk on the USB drive and you install it from within another working operating system that is running a virtual machine, allowing you to mount the XP image in your working OS on a virtual drive and loading it that way. Other than that, I can't think of a way you could practically.
