Why does my mouse pointer disappear?

What causes my mouse pointer?

  • I'll be here on yahoo or some other web page and all of a sudden my mouse pointer will either disappear or it will jump from the bottom of the page to the top. What causes this..??

    Before you try either of the suggestions listed below, examine your mousepad. If it's dirty, slippery, has cracks, etc. it probably needs to be replaced. 1. If you have a mouse with a good old fashioned ball it might be dirty. Either remove the ball and clean it or get a new mouse. 2. If you have a wireless mouse, it's likely the battery's dying. Replace it. 3. If you have an optical mouse (and option 2 isn't applicable) it could be lag on your computer as optical mouses shouldn't skip. If you're positive it's not lag (lag is when your computer pauses for a fraction of a second to minutes then resumes) try buying a more expensive optical mouse.

restart your comp then click run diagnostics before loads and it will run a check for you

Before throwing away a good mouse make sure it's not your mat try using it on a perfect surface first. Make sure you are not using a mouse mat that have a reflective coating, also no printing or design your mouse can see.
