Why wont windows messenger connect?

How do I connect my webcam onto Windows Live Messenger?

  • I have a Sumvision Panther GX 4MP computer camera. It is connected to the computer, I have installed the drivers but I can't us it on Windows Live Messenger. How do I connect it to Windows Live so I can talk to my friends via webcam?

  • Answer:

Make Sure The Cam Is Installed And The USB is Inserted. Then Open Windows Live Messenger Contact List (Main Menu). Then Press Left Alt. You Will Have On The Top: 'File, Contacts, Actions, Tools And Help.' Click On 'Tools' Then 'Audio And Video Setup' Then Press 'Next' If You Have Fine Audio. Then You Will Have A Window That You Set Your Webcam. Drop Down The Menu Then Select The Inserted Webcam. Hope This Helps ;)

If you have the new version of MSN, then that might be the reason, it tends to be quite tempremental with webcams, it won't allow mine to work on the new version, so you might want to consider downloading an earlier version.
