What cheap new graphics/video cards are there that can work with Windows 7 in old computers?

  • I'm looking for a brand new AGP 4X card with low power and no games and regular size for tower computers. I find it confusing when there are so many cards out there and can't find the right ones made for older computers and are cheaper low-end ones and just runs with Windows 7. I'm in Canada, so any cheap new cards to buy in North America will be great...Thanks.

    What are you trying to accomplish? Did your gpu die and you need a replacement? Are you trying to support better monitor? What is "cheap"? The reason you are not finding new AGP cards is that the requirements the new digital HD monitors placed on the interface could no longer be met, so a new interface was designed, pci-express. All of the development then went into this new interface, rather than beating the old dead horse. What this all means 2U, is that there are no "NEW" boards, the supply that still exists are following the laws of supply and demand, ain't cheap relative to their capabilities. What you need to understand is AGP cards are no longer manufacturered, ever since all the new motherboards use PCI Express Technology and no longer have an AGP Port, it would be bad buissness practice to manufacture a product from a port that no longer is made. Hence you can throw the word new out the window.
