I have a DELL Dimension 2300 Desktop and I think it meets the minimum requirements to run the game. It has a Intel Celeron CPU with 1.70 Ghz with 256 MB of RAM. It runs Windows XP with service pack 1. can anyone let me know what the difference is also between running the game on a laptop and a desktop because I'm not sure what the big difference is. Thank You. also, the game says something about a 3D Hardware Accelerator Card, Pentium III 800 MHz or Athlon 800 MHz processor, Radeon Chipsets and GeForce Chipsets. what does all of this mean. can someone please explain.

Answer:
yes your computer will run the games the computer spec is ok, it will most probably be your graphics card, that's the problem, first of all update your windows with service pack 2 thats a must, your well out of date only having service pack 1 on, follow the link below to update to sevice pack 2 next goto dell's website, and ask there about your graphics card, ask if it is a 3d card, if it is then you will need to set it up to run the accelerator, try this, click on :- start, click on :- run type in :- dxdiag press enter you will get a menu up called :- directx diagnostic tools this will test everything in your computer play with it you will not do any harm to your computer first page tells you everything about your computer to move on click on next page, tells you all the drivers you have on your computer, move to next page is display this is the interesting one play with that, click on everything it will test your display, next page is sound again click on everything the next page is music click on everything again now the reports will tell you if everything is working as it should hope you like playing with the diagnostics tools for the updates for service pack 2 you can find here

Any computer with only 256mb of RAM will be hard pressed to play almost any video game - especially a 3D one. Your biggest downfall is probably your RAM and your video card. The game's requirements say you need a 3D video card such as a Radeon or GeForce - if you don't know what these are then you probably don't have one. See if you can find out what type of video card you have in your computer - some Dell Dimension 2300's come with GeForce 5500fx cards, but it depends on your personal configuration. I would also double check to see if 256mb is enough ram for that game, chances are that it isn't - in which case you would need to upgrade that as well.
