How do I install a new motherboard?

How do you install a motherboard into a new case?

  • I purchased a new motherboard and case and I have no clue how to install it. any links or help? Iv heard its very easy to short circuit.

    its different for each case and motherboard but the same basic idea. i would watch a tutorial on youtube or something to help. you can short circuit but tips are to not stay on any carpet or anything... so do it on hard wood floor and keep yourself grounded there. everytime you go do something else, touch the base or any metal part of the case before you handle the motherboard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4Mx1n7qRTE hope this vid helps. and in the video it says you need the bracelet but i didn't use one when i installed mine so you should be fine as long as you stay grounded on the floor. NO carpet or anything!

Ok if you don't know how then take it to a tech shop and get them to do it. This is eaiser than trying to understand written instructions and yes motherboards are extremely sensitive to static which can do damage to it.
