How to create a boot CD from an already burned one?

I currently have Ubuntu. How do I create a dual boot with XP?

  • There's a couple of things that are going to make it tricky. This came with XP originally but I didn't think I would want to play games on it, until I saw Starcraft 2. The first tricky part is that this is on a netbook (a netbook that I've seen will run Starcraft 2), but it also has no CD-ROM. Even if it did I want to keep a separate partition for the Linux I'm on right now. Does installing XP automatically wipe out all partitions? Secondly I'd prefer to not spend money I don't have to. Since I'm on a Linux-Linux dual boot right now, I'm not sure how to go about it. I can make do with just one of them. I'd prefer not to have to buy another laptop just to get Windows. I don't think Starcraft works with WINE, or if it does I've had a lot of difficulty setting it up. When I have some free time I do intend to sort out the issues with it on my laptop. How would I go about taking my Linux-Linux dual boot, keeping one and installing Windows to replace just one partition, without a CD-ROM? I could buy an external USB CD-ROM but only if I'm sure that installing Windows isn't going to automatically remove both OS I have right now.

Purchasing an external CD-ROM would be a wise move How to dual boot Linux and Windows XP (Linux installed first) http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_linux_and_windows_xp_linux_installed_first.htm LUg.

You just create a new partition or tell windows to overwrite the partition you do not want. Just remember what drive letter the o/s you want to remove is on and select that path during the installation process. http://lifehacker.com/5584856/multibootisos-boots-multiple-live-operating-systems-from-a-usb-drive
