How to save videos on my computer?

How can i save videos from youtube or any other source in a flash drive memory, or the computer itself?

• I download videos in youtube, google videos, and some other websites, and I watch them once, but I've heard there is a way to save videos in a flash drive memory, or any other memory storage. Also, would it be possible to save it in the computer itself? If anyone knows how to do it, please tell me. Thank You!

  Hi, First of all, just to be exact, I'd say that you 'watch' or 'stream' videos from youtube, google etc. If you say download, then it means that you actually save a file [what you aim to do here in fact]. My remark is only half true - I know - because in order to stream video, your computer actually has to keep or save/download [but more exactly here: buffer] a file on your hard drive so that your media player can read it. Now, I will not give you a complete answer here, but I would just hint you this: "Temporary Internet Files" folder [Tools/Internet Options/(Browsing History)Settings/View Files]. Some sites, you use .flv or Flash (swf) -type files integral and unlocked; it's just that they don't name them "Mister_X_music_video.flv" and they use a name that might not tell you what the file is. But they're all in that folder and if you sort that folder by the "last Accessed", by "size" or by "type", you should find the file you want [videos are usually the biggest files in that folder]. Just copy the file OUT of that folder to another folder (your destop maybe) and try to read them. Now, some of the sites like Youtube and Google Videos used to offer the possibility to directly save the video files (download them), but not anymore. Furthermore, Youtube's temporary files are not usable just like you would read a .mov or .mpg file for instance. They use some lock mechanism on the temporary files or split the video file in sections and continuously overwrite it as you watch the stream. All that so that you can not do what you are trying to do here. I know that I will not get the best answer on your question here because I will not give you the name of a software to do what you want to do. Why? Because it's kind of illegal and against my principles to broadcast such a cheat; but they exist. I will leave it to others to give you the tricks of the trade. Good luck!
