Do i have to change my video card or just add a tv tuner to my desktop to allow me to watch and record tv?

I am using windows vista ultimate edition and want to be able to record tv. i have an existing video card 256 mb of memory, but i want to be able to add dvr functionality. do i need to replace this current card with a tv tuner card or just add a tv tuner card to my existing configuration? any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can just add a tv tuner into an empty PCI expansion slot.

You only need to add a TV tuner. TV tuners aren't video cards, so you'll have to keep your current video card, also.
