How come CD doesn't work in my shell script?

Skyrim: mods that come with script files...they don't work?

• I downloaded this mod called MERCENARIES PLUS, it came with a script file with i never seen before in the data folder and well i put the file in the data fold as told activated the .esp it doest allow me to speak to who i need. Do script files require a certain mod for them to work i know another that doesn't work for me CLUB OBOS. These files both use script files, some people say it works...some say it doesn't. ps: i play on a mac so i manually install my mods in plugin.txt (which work)

  Unlike Oblivion, the script files in Skyrim are separate from the data. The compiled scripts should be placed in your "...skyrim/data/Scripts/" folder. If the source file for the script is included, then that will be placed in your "...skyrim/data/Scripts/source/" folder. Most modders will include the source so that users can edit the script directly in the creation kit if they wish. But some don't, which either means the user must decompile the script with a 3rd party decompiler, or else just make their own new script if they don't care for how the mod's script works. Scripts should work if the mod addresses them correctly and they are placed in the correct folders. If a mod is reported as working, then the usual suspects if it isn't working for u are, 1...scripts (or other data) are in the wrong directory, and 2...another mod is conflicting with this mod. It could be other reasons also, but those are the most common. Your problem may not be scripts however. It could be there is an error in the character dialogue, or there is some other conflict which prevents the player character from initiating dialogue with the mod's NPC. To test if the mod actually works, u should disable all other mods and run the game to check. If it works this way, then u will know that another mod is conflicting, causing the error.
