Why can't I get my wireless headphones to work?

Headphones or Speakers don't work on computer...?

  • I have Logitech speakers on a eMachines computer. its a fairly old computer. the speakers you need a plug socket for, and they light up asif they work, and i can plug my phone into them and they DO work. for some reason headphones dont work either, yet i can also use them on my phone. it doesnt even show that they are plugged in on the audio settings (which you get to via control panel). i also dont have the volume adjustment thing on the bottom right of my screen and i cant add it on the toolbar manager. i have windows XP if it helps to know. if anybody knows how i would appreciate it greatly;- explain in fullest detail as well please. thanks! (Please note that i don't have any instruction manual or installation disks for the speakers, im not sure if they are necessary though).

  • Answer:

It's probably your audio driver. A possible way to fix (or to at least figure out what's wrong) is to run through the troubleshooter. Click 'Start', Then locate & proceed to the control panel. Once there, select 'Sounds, speech, and audio devices'. Move your cursor over to the left side of the window, locate 'Troubleshooters' then select 'sound'. Answer the corresponding questions based on what exactly is not working and you should get it fixed. If that does not work, there must be something wrong with your audio driver (IF that's what it is in the first place). I suggest you contact a computer repair man for further help. ~Tim
