What do I need to know about buying a tv?

In need of a quick help picking out a certain TV Tuner for my computer, home use only!?

• I'm thingking of buying a TV Tuner, but I don't have any clue as to what product or brand I'm looking for! But all I know is that I need a TV Tuner that feautures: 1. Audio visual slot (the usual 3 slots, yellow-white-red). 2. Can record a superb quality (exellent audio quality & good video resolution) of the adio visual input. 3. Can record a superb quality of the TV input. 4. The result (output) of the record is a common format >> for example: .mp4, .avi, .wmv 5. It actually doesn't matter if it's an external or internal harware (after all it is for home use only!) I'm looking for here, but I'm told that external hardwares are more expensive than the internal hardwares. Is that correct? 7. A friend of mine suggested a Pixleview product. He said its quite good actually. But I think I need more than one persons point of view. IMPORTANT: Don't forget to add the website of the product that your suggesting me to buy. I's realy important for me to check it first.Thx
