How much is a capture card?

How much does a capture card cost and how does it work?

• I want to use one for my xbox 360 to make halo videos and cod4 but im not gonna spend like 60 bucks on it so...how does it work? do u have to "record" or does it capture everything that goes on? tell me EVERYTHING you know for 10 points!!!

  Hey man, I've had my fair share of capture cards over the years! Try and stay away from the low-priced ones if you can, because they usually come with whack software and don't really give your video a good audio or visual quality. This one: http://www.amazon.com/Pinnacle-Systems-82301006351-Dazzle-Recorder/dp/B001CBXEDG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1227749911&sr=8-1 should be your sorta thing, the Dazzle ones I have owned have always been very easy to use and with satisfying results. I'm not sure if this comes with any capturing software, but you can use Windows Movie Maker to capture from the device, which will save as a big .wmv file which you can edit later on. The device itself works like a video recorder, you tell it to record when you want to start, and stop to stop (obviously) Other than that, have fun with it! And for goodness sake do not make another halo video with numa numa on it :(
